MOE Short-Term Native Language Study Scholarship for Foreign Students 教育部獎助外國學生短期研習本土語言計畫

Program Overview

The Ministry of Education (MOE) offers scholarships for foreign students to study Taiwan’s native languages (e.g., Taiwanese Hokkien, Hakka, Indigenous languages, etc.) to promote local culture and international exchange.

 Two Types of Financial Support

1️⃣ Study in Taiwan (Short-term Scholarship)

  • Monthly grant: NTD 28,000

  • Duration: Up to 6 months (1 term = 3 months)

  • Visa must be for native language study (code FS)

  • Limited slots: Approx. 60 months total per year

2️⃣ Enrolled Students in Taiwan (Semester Subsidy)

  • Per semester grant: NTD 10,000

  • Max: 2 semesters

  • Condition: Must complete 2 credits of the same native language course

✅ Who Can Apply?

  • Age 18 or above

  • Currently enrolled in a university (in Taiwan or overseas)

  • Good academic performance and conduct

  • Not receiving any other Taiwanese government scholarships

  • Special notes:

    • For the NTD 28,000 grant: You must NOT already be in Taiwan

    • For the NTD 10,000 subsidy: You must be studying in Taiwan and have completed language courses

📝 How to Apply?

  • Applications must be submitted by the university in Taiwan

  • Documents include: project plan, student list, course info, etc.

  • Application periods:

    • NTD 28,000 grant: August 1–15 each year

    • NTD 10,000 subsidy: February (1st semester), August (2nd semester)

📌 Important Notes

  • No part-time jobs or long trips abroad (max 10 days during scholarship)

  • Must purchase accident and medical insurance

  • Providing false information or rule violations may result in disqualification and repayment

計畫簡介

教育部提供獎學金，鼓勵外國學生來台灣學習「本土語言」（像是台語、客語、原住民族語言等），認識台灣在地文化，加強國際交流。

💰 獎學金兩種方式

1️⃣ 來台研習本土語言（短期）

  • 每月補助：新台幣 28,000 元

  • 最多可領 6 個月

  • 一期為 3 個月

  • 簽證目的需為「本土語言學習」（代碼 FS）

  • 名額有限，每年約 60 個月總額度

2️⃣ 學期修課補助（已在台灣讀書者）

  • 每學期補助：新台幣 10,000 元

  • 最多補助 2 個學期

  • 條件：需修習同一門本土語言課程，且拿到2 學分

✅ 誰可以申請？

  • 年滿 18 歲

  • 正在就讀國內外大學或研究所

  • 成績良好、品行端正

  • 未曾領過台灣政府其他獎學金（如臺灣獎學金）

  • 特別說明：

    • 申請28,000元獎學金者：不能已經在台灣就學、居住或工作

    • 申請10,000元獎助金者：必須已在台灣大學就學並修過本土語言

📝 如何申請？

  • 由台灣大學幫你送件，包含計畫書、申請表、修課資料等

  • 申請時間：

    • 28,000元獎學金：每年8月1日至15日

    • 10,000元獎助金：2月（第一學期）、8月（第二學期）

📌 注意事項

  • 領獎期間不能打工，不能出境超過10天

  • 須自行購買意外與醫療保險

  • 如果有提供不實資料或違規情況，會被取消資格並追回款項
